{"id":115865,"date":"2021-12-03T11:31:53","date_gmt":"2021-12-03T10:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=115865"},"modified":"2021-12-03T11:31:53","modified_gmt":"2021-12-03T10:31:53","slug":"driver-loses-control-dies-on-lagos-ibadan-expressway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/03\/driver-loses-control-dies-on-lagos-ibadan-expressway\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver loses control, dies on Lagos-Ibadan expressway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A driver has lost his live due to over speeding in a lone accident along the Lagos-Ibadan highway, before Ogun interchange.<\/p>\n<p>According to DAILY POST, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/29\/24-year-old-prospective-corps-member-dies-in-crash-on-way-to-camp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> crash<\/a> occurred at about 02:3am, involving the male driver\u2019s Nissan pick-up, with registration number, AAB 240 ZY.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspected cause of the lone accident was excessive speed which led to loss of control and he was trapped inside the vehicle,\u201d the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said.<\/p>\n<p>FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said the trapped corpse had been removed and taken to Idera Hospital morgue, Sagamu, adding that the crashed vehicle was towed off the road.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Sector Commander of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/07\/frsc-vehicle-loses-control-kills-two-injures-five-in-bauchi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FRSC<\/a> in Ogun, Ahmed Umar has cautioned motorists to desist from speed violation, especially at a time when there is high vehicular movement<\/p>\n<p>Umar sympathised with the family of the victim, asking them to contact the Sagamu office of the FRSC for more information about the crash.<\/p>\n<p>He advised motorists to drive cautiously and obey traffic rules and regulations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A driver has lost his live due to over speeding in a lone accident along the Lagos-Ibadan highway, before Ogun interchange.
