Bandits shot a pregnant woman while trying to kidnap some residents of Sabo GRA, in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the bandits<\/a>, who invaded the community in the early hours of Saturday in large numbers were however engaged by security agents in a gun battle and eventually repelled.<\/p>\n

The bandits were said to have shot sporadically into the air and, in the process, a pregnant woman was shot before the terrorists were repelled after a gun battle that lasted almost three hours.<\/p>\n

Three persons who were earlier abducted from the community were later set free after a combined team of soldiers and JTF engaged the bandits in gun battle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to The Nation, eyewitnesses said that many residents of the community took to their heels for fear of being kidnapped<\/a> while the exchange of gunfire lasted.<\/p>\n

A resident who pleaded anonymity said that one of the houses in the community went up in flames at about the same time.<\/p>\n

According to the resident, the bandits bore a hole through the fence and gained a\u00e7cess into the compound, following which they set the house ablaze<\/a> before leaving.<\/p>\n

Sabo GRA community had been relatively safe with an isolated incident of kidnapping recorded in December 2019 when a returnee from the United States was abducted alongside two of his brothers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
