{"id":121801,"date":"2021-12-16T15:51:55","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T14:51:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=121801"},"modified":"2021-12-16T17:02:07","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T16:02:07","slug":"a-child-in-police-custody-is-holding-a-document-that-sylvester-consented-to-kemi-olunloyo-slams-falana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/16\/a-child-in-police-custody-is-holding-a-document-that-sylvester-consented-to-kemi-olunloyo-slams-falana\/","title":{"rendered":"Kemi Olunloyo slams Falana, says \u201ca child in police custody is holding document that Sylvester consented to\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has accused the Oromoni family of withholding some information from the public in a bid to paint a different picture.<\/p>\n<p>This came after human rights lawyer Femi Falana who is representing the Oromini family asked the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/13\/sylvester-falana-asks-police-to-invite-kemi-olunloyo-over-reckless-allegation\/\">Nigerian Police to invite Olunloyo for questioning over her statement<\/a> where she had insisted that 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni had consented to joining a cult in his school Dowen college.<\/p>\n<p>This statement had infuriated Nigerians with some celebrities threatening to beat her up.<\/p>\n<p>In a new statement she shared on her official facebook page, Kemi Olunloyo fumed over the petition that was filed against her by the family of Sylvester Oromoni through Femi Falana.<\/p>\n<p>She also threatened to sue the family of the deceased for damages. Speaking further, the journalist held that one of the children that are currently in police custody has a document that shows that Sylvester consented to join the cult.<\/p>\n<p>Read her statement below:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>STATEMENT BY DR KEMI OLUNLOYO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8:45pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lagos Nigeria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>December 16th 2021\ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddec\u2696<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Femi Falana is an overrated SAN who feels he\u2019s above the law. He carries a dangerous ego which he feels he can use to intimidate the government and protect the people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019m planning to sue him for dragging my professional reputation asking police to invite me for specifically my \u201creckless statement\u201d concerning Sylvester Oromoni a fake petition we are yet to see.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reckless what? He wants to use scare tactics he uses with successive governments. If in fact he\u2019s filing on behalf of the Oromoni family I will be suing them too for damages.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Oromoni family should fire him and use their senses. Falana is a distraction and one who loves media trials.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He is not focused and doesn\u2019t care about civil, legal and human rights of anyone just acts like he does. No family of a dead schoolboy should drag an investigative journalist.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The era of those who spoil my name in this country Nigeria will end soon. I know my legal rights. I have information that could make or break this case designed to ruin the reputation of so many others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nigerians have their mob mentality. Falana investigate the children police have in custody. One of them is holding a document that Sylvester consented to and his family are well aware.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Oromoni family should undergo a LIE DETECTOR TEST as well as the staff in custody. They have a lot of info the dying child shared with them they did not post on social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019m an award winning investigative journalist of 27 years not an Internet blogger and social media personality in this capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Any journalist can open any case at anytime.
