{"id":123124,"date":"2021-12-20T12:13:31","date_gmt":"2021-12-20T11:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=123124"},"modified":"2021-12-20T12:13:31","modified_gmt":"2021-12-20T11:13:31","slug":"zimbabwean-woman-sues-friend-for-snatching-her-husband","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/20\/zimbabwean-woman-sues-friend-for-snatching-her-husband\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwean woman sues friend for snatching her husband"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Zimbabwean woman, Marvelous Marufu has sued a former family friend for reportedly snatching her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Marufu, who is demanding US$50,000 as damages from Ratidzo Nyamuchengwa who works with her husband, claimed she suffered &#8220;humiliation, pain and suffering&#8221; following the loss of her spouse and love.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-123125 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/12\/kunlenet07\/2021\/12\/20\/Zimbabwe-High-Court.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/12\/kunlenet07\/2021\/12\/20\/Zimbabwe-High-Court.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/12\/kunlenet07\/2021\/12\/20\/Zimbabwe-High-Court-300x159.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/12\/kunlenet07\/2021\/12\/20\/Zimbabwe-High-Court-768x407.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a High Court filing, Marufu revealed that her husband Albert Mhondoro upgraded their customary law union into a monogamous civil <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/15\/why-marriages-conducted-in-ikoyi-registry-are-not-illegal-nigerian-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marriage<\/a> on March 19, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Revealing that the defendant bought her a wedding gift after the upgrade, Marufu said she uncovered her husband\u2019s infidelity when she overheard him on the phone with Nyamuchengwa, professing love for her.<\/p>\n<p>She said; \u201cDefendant (Nyamuchengwa) even purchased a wedding gift for the plaintiff (Marufu). This notwithstanding defendant enticed and alienated plaintiff\u2019s spouse\u2019s affection from plaintiff and harboured him in adulterous relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt all material times the defendant was aware of the marital status of plaintiff\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/10\/my-husband-loves-dogs-more-than-me-divorce-seeking-wife-tells-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">husband<\/a> and moreover she would visit plaintiff\u2019s home, sometimes in the company of her husband Terrence Mawire, such that they eventually became family friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Marufu said as a result of Nyamuchengwa\u2019s adultery with her husband, she has lost love, affection and companionship of her husband who moved out of their matrimonial home on December 26, 2020. She claims Mhondoro is now cohabitating with Nyamuchengwa, who has also ditched her husband Mawire.<\/p>\n<p>She added; \u201cIn the premises, plaintiff has suffered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/02\/temidayo-owodolu-parents-demand-n1b-damages-from-elizade-varsity-over-death-of-daughter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">damages<\/a> as follows: loss of consortium, comfort, companionship of her spouse in the sum of US$30,000 and contumelia in the sum of US$20,000.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Zimbabwean woman, Marvelous Marufu has sued a former family friend for reportedly snatching her husband.
