{"id":12411,"date":"2021-03-24T06:02:08","date_gmt":"2021-03-24T05:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=12411"},"modified":"2021-03-24T06:02:08","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T05:02:08","slug":"months-after-conference-invitation-controversy-el-rufai-hosts-nba-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/24\/months-after-conference-invitation-controversy-el-rufai-hosts-nba-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"Months after conference invitation controversy, El-Rufai hosts NBA leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata on Tuesday and his team paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.<\/p>\n<p>This visit was announced on Twitter by the office of the governor where it was revealed that\u00a0the NBA team was hosted at the Kaduna government house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMalam Nasir @elrufai has welcomed Olumide Akpata, President of the Nigerian Bar Association (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/21\/onitsha-nba-chairman-who-was-kidnapped-by-abductors-found-dead\/\">NBA<\/a>), and his team to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House,\u201d the tweet read.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovKaduna\/status\/1374341137532661763?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1374341137532661763%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thecable.ng%2Fel-rufai-hosts-nba-leadership-months-after-conference-invitation-controversy<\/p>\n<p>This is coming months after the NBA had withdrawn its invitation to the governor to speak at its annual general conference.<\/p>\n<p>Following an outcry by some lawyers in the association who claimed that the governor stands against what the profession represents, the invitation was withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association at its ongoing meeting resolves that the invitation to the Kaduna State Governor, H.E.
