{"id":131478,"date":"2022-01-08T08:11:22","date_gmt":"2022-01-08T07:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=131478"},"modified":"2022-01-08T08:11:22","modified_gmt":"2022-01-08T07:11:22","slug":"buhari-signs-bills-establishing-adeyemi-university-of-education-chartered-institute-of-treasury-mgt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/08\/buhari-signs-bills-establishing-adeyemi-university-of-education-chartered-institute-of-treasury-mgt\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari signs bills establishing Adeyemi University of Education, Chartered Institute of Treasury Mgt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to a bill to establish the Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo State.<\/p>\n<p>The bill was sponsored by the member representing Ondo East and West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Peter Abiola Makinde.<\/p>\n<p>With the president\u2019s assent, it repeals the law establishing Adeyemi Federal College of Education, upgrading it to the status of a university.<\/p>\n<p>Titled: \u201cAn Act to establish the Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo for the promotion and development of teachers\u2019 education, make comprehensive provisions for management and administration of the University and for related matters,\u201d it was signed into law by the president on December 23, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It was passed by the House of Representatives on July 23, 2021 and also by the Senate on October 13, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/07\/buhari-has-lost-control-of-his-government-ijaw-youths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buhari<\/a> also assented to a bill to establish the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management, the first of its kind to pass throughout the entire stages of legislation.<\/p>\n<p>It was sponsored by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon Mohammed Tahir Monguno, who represents Monguno\/Nganzai \/Marte Federal Constituency of Bornu State.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute is established to promote, study and practice the proper management of the treasury as a safeguard against fraud, outright embezzlement, emasculation, misappropriation or misapplication of scarce resources placed in the custody of fund managers.<\/p>\n<p>Buhari assented to the bill on December 29, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It was passed by the House on November 20, 2019 and passed by the Senate on November 17, 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to a bill to establish the Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo State.
