{"id":131636,"date":"2022-01-08T18:46:55","date_gmt":"2022-01-08T17:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=131636"},"modified":"2022-01-08T18:52:16","modified_gmt":"2022-01-08T17:52:16","slug":"fg-n1bn-solar-street-lights-project-in-adamawa-fully-executed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/08\/fg-n1bn-solar-street-lights-project-in-adamawa-fully-executed\/","title":{"rendered":"FG: N1bn solar street lights project in Adamawa fully executed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government has disclosed that it has fully executed the N1 billion contracts for the installation of solar street lights in Adamawa.<\/p>\n<p>This was made known by the<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> office of the senior special assistant to the President on sustainable development goals (OSSAP-SDGs) in reaction to report that the project was not completed<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a press release on Saturday by Rotimi Ajayi, head of communications unit OSSAP-SDGs, said the contracts were carried out as stated in the terms of the award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ajayi claimed that the publication\u2019s reporter had contacted the OSSAP-SDGs office to request evidence of completion of the project, to which they agreed to take him on a physical inspection of the projects but he declined.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe attention of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, OSSAP-SDGs has been drawn to a story published by an online platform and regurgitated word for word without independent verification of the facts contained therein by some other online publications on the alleged award of N1billion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/29\/manchester-united-top-stars-regret-signing-contracts\/\">contracts<\/a> for the installation of solar street lights in Adamawa State,\u201d the statement reads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cOSSAP-SDGs, hereby, categorically denied insinuations that the contracts were not carried out as stated in the terms of the award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cFor the avoidance of doubts, OSSAP-SDGs wishes to state emphatically that contrary to the fake news by the publication, the contract was fully and duly executed with strict adherence to due process and for the benefit of the good people of Adamawa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-131642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/adewale_chocomilo\/2022\/01\/08\/street.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"1040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/adewale_chocomilo\/2022\/01\/08\/street.jpeg 780w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/adewale_chocomilo\/2022\/01\/08\/street-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/adewale_chocomilo\/2022\/01\/08\/street-768x1024.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cIndeed, when the reporter contacted the office, the project and media officers volunteered to take him on a physical inspection of the projects and their locations. But he claimed that he was busy and will not be able to go on the inspection, perhaps because he had already made up his mind on carrying out a hatchet job.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The statement further stated that OSSAP-SDGs office went ahead to provide the reporter with picture evidence of the project completion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It stated that the reporter instead attributed the picture evidence to a senator, adding that this goes to show that the reporter and his publication only set out for \u201cmischief and blackmail\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cOn his request, the office forwarded about 150 pictures of the completely installed streetlights and their locations to him. But the publication would rather choose to attribute the streetlights to a certain serving Senator without necessary verifications,\u201d the statement read.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe office, therefore, regards the report as a hatchet job and a very malicious attempt to rubbish the good image of the office.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe publication and its reporter set out for mischief and blackmail against the noble tenets of journalism in the way they have handled this report.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government has disclosed that it has fully executed the N1 billion contracts for the installation of solar street lights in Adamawa.
