{"id":132600,"date":"2022-01-10T18:37:51","date_gmt":"2022-01-10T17:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=132600"},"modified":"2022-01-10T19:37:02","modified_gmt":"2022-01-10T18:37:02","slug":"why-we-banned-fulani-cattle-in-south-east-ipob","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/10\/why-we-banned-fulani-cattle-in-south-east-ipob\/","title":{"rendered":"Why we banned Fulani cattle in South-East &#8211; IPOB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has explained why it placed a ban on consumption of beef from Fulani cattle in the South-East.<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA recalls IPOB, in a statement on Monday, 3 January,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/03\/ipob-bans-nigerian-anthem-in-southeast-schools-slaughtering-of-cows-for-ceremonies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> banned the slaughtering of Fulani cows<\/a> during festive seasons across the Southeast region while revealing the group action plan for the year 2022<\/p>\n<p>Following this, a group under the auspices of Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) through its Spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, described IPOB\u2019s directive as \u201ca grave provocation and serious threat to northern commercial interests in the South-East and by extension, to the physical wellbeing of Northerners living as minorities among Igbo communities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The CNG, therefore, called for a total <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/07\/northern-coalition-calls-for-boycott-of-igbo-businesses-over-ipobs-fulani-cow-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boycott of all businesses operated by the Igbo<\/a> all over the North.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, in a statement said; \u201cWe did not ban cow meats but those cows that were destroying our farms and those raping our mothers, wives and sisters in the farms, Biafrans can foreign cows not the ones that can bring terrorists in our territories\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The breakaway agitators further condemned the comment made by the Northern groups saying \u201cthe CNG should have first questioned some herdsmen on why they have s3x with cows, film such abominable act by themselves and post the video to the world. What is the reason for such beastly behaviour? Who do they want to hypnotise?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Why is it that the Northern coalition never cautioned their people to stop sleeping with cows and sell the defiled animals for people to eat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe baseless claim by Northern coalition group and Arewa youth groups that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/07\/cattle-ban-ipob-has-declared-war-acf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IPOB<\/a> has declared war against the North cannot fly because they started it by destroying archole and hotels belonging to Igbo people in the North while it does not belong to the Fulani only.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIPOB is wise and knowledgeable enough to know what it means to declare war.
