A village head and a 16-year-old boy have been killed in a recent string of abductions in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.<\/p>\n

The teenager identified as Ijarshu Markus, was said to have been abducted<\/a> alongside his mother and brother last week from their home in Maiwandu village.<\/p>\n

While local vigilantes rescued his mother and brother, they failed to rescue Markus from the gunmen as they made away with him.<\/p>\n

Three days later, the corpse of the teenager was found lying in the bush with two stab<\/a> wounds on his chest and heart.<\/p>\n

The unfortunate incident happened less than 14 days after the killing of the village head (Lawan) of Mayo-Wandu of Duhu District in Madagali, Ahmadu Sikari, who was shot twice at his residence at night when the attempt to kidnap him went awry.<\/p>\n

According to Daily Trust, the District Head of Duhu, Mustapha Sanusi, said the death of the village head<\/a> and that of Ijarshu had caused panic among residents, calling on the government to increase security in the area.<\/p>\n

He believed that some Boko Haram<\/a> insurgents were now teaming up with other criminals to raise money for the insurgency through kidnapping for ransom.<\/p>\n

The state police spokesperson, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incidents, said that police had dispatched its men to track down the perpetrators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
