{"id":137255,"date":"2022-01-20T11:33:28","date_gmt":"2022-01-20T10:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=137255"},"modified":"2022-01-20T11:50:36","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T10:50:36","slug":"married-lesbian-couple-killed-and-dismembered-in-trash-bags-during-vacation-to-visit-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/20\/married-lesbian-couple-killed-and-dismembered-in-trash-bags-during-vacation-to-visit-family\/","title":{"rendered":"Married lesbian couple killed and dismembered in trash bags during vacation to visit family"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A married lesbian couple, Nohem\u00ed Medina Mart\u00ednez and Yulizsa Ram\u00edrez from Texas, United States were tortured and shot dead before their bodies were dismembered and left in two garbage bags after visiting their families in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Chihuahua State Office of the Attorney General, the bags containing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/14\/burnt-and-decomposed-bodies-of-five-missing-family-members-found-inside-forest-in-south-africa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bodies<\/a> of both women, who are aged 28 were found about 17 miles apart from each other on a stretch of Ju\u00e1rez-El Porvenir Road Sunday morning, January 16 on streets in the Mexican border town of Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez.<\/p>\n<p>One of the bodies was in the San Agust\u00edn neighborhood and the other was found at the entrance of the Jesus Carranza village in what police believe to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/19\/i-killed-him-because-he-wanted-to-have-homosexual-act-with-me-murder-suspect-confesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">homophobic<\/a> fueled crime.<\/p>\n<p>Mexican newspaper El Diario reported that they were visiting family members in Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez but the family members last saw the couple on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-137263 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/20\/Nohemi-Medina-Martinez-and-Yulizsa-Ramirez-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"1066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/20\/Nohemi-Medina-Martinez-and-Yulizsa-Ramirez-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/20\/Nohemi-Medina-Martinez-and-Yulizsa-Ramirez-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/20\/Nohemi-Medina-Martinez-and-Yulizsa-Ramirez-2-768x1023.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is still unclear how long the couple, who got married in 2021 and were mothers to three children had been in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Chihuahua Committee for Sexual Diversity Director Karen Arvizo said; &#8216;The concern is that authorities will absolutely do nothing,&#8217; Daily Mail reports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We feel like we are treated like second-class citizens and that we really don&#8217;t matter.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez authorities found the bodies of two other women at an intersection in the Patria-Zaragoza neighborhood. They also had been tortured and shot. They have not been identified.<\/p>\n<p>One of the victims was declared dead at the scene. The other died at a local hospital from a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unknown if the four murders are connected.
