{"id":138974,"date":"2022-01-24T08:17:45","date_gmt":"2022-01-24T07:17:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=138974"},"modified":"2022-01-24T08:17:45","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T07:17:45","slug":"report-dangote-refinery-to-begin-production-in-third-quarter-of-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/24\/report-dangote-refinery-to-begin-production-in-third-quarter-of-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Dangote refinery to begin production in third quarter of 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chairman of Dangote Group and Africa&#8217;s richest person, Aliko Dangote has disclosed that the refinery will begin processing crude by the third quarter of 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-01-22\/giant-dangote-oil-refinery-to-begin-production-in-third-quarter\"><strong>According to Bloomberg<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s2\">the business mogul said mechanical work on the refinery is done, and \u201chopefully before the end of the third quarter we should be in the market\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This was stated by Aliko Dangote during<span class=\"s2\">\u00a0a briefing at the plant site in Lagos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Dangote said the plant would start with a processing capacity of 540,000 barrels per day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cFull production can start maybe, by the end of the year or beginning of 2023,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Dangote Petroleum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/15\/wike-gives-lg-chairs-48-hours-ultimatum-to-identify-illegal-refinery-sites-owners\/\">Refinery<\/a> is a multi-billion dollar project that will create a market for $11 Billion per annum of Nigerian Crude.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The facility, which cost an estimated $19 billion to build, has an installed capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">It is expected to be Africa\u2019s biggest oil refinery and one of the world\u2019s biggest single-train facilities, upon completion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Its output will be more than enough to meet Nigeria\u2019s fuel demands and turn Africa\u2019s largest crude producer into an exporter of refined crude.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), had stated that Nigeria <\/span><span class=\"s2\">will save 40 percent of its foreign exchange (FX) earnings refinery and petrochemical Plant begins operations in the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chairman of Dangote Group and Africa&#8217;s richest person, Aliko Dangote has disclosed that the refinery will begin processing crude by the third quarter of 2022.
