{"id":141703,"date":"2022-01-30T08:02:22","date_gmt":"2022-01-30T07:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=141703"},"modified":"2022-01-30T08:02:22","modified_gmt":"2022-01-30T07:02:22","slug":"my-wife-beats-me-poisoned-my-food-twice-husband-tells-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/30\/my-wife-beats-me-poisoned-my-food-twice-husband-tells-court\/","title":{"rendered":"My wife beats me, poisoned my food twice &#8211; Husband tells court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 23-year-old marriage between a clergyman, Dele Adewale, and his wife, Favour, has been divorce after the husband told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos, Lagos State, that his wife beat and poisoned his food twice.<\/p>\n<p>The court president, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, who granted Adewale\u2019s request of divorce, held that it was imperative he did so due to lack of compatibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court has come to the conclusion that the marriage between the couple had broken down irretrievable, therefore, the dissolution of their marriage is needful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is proper for both parties to go their separate ways since they are tired of their marriage while all efforts to reconcile them failed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court hereby pronounces the marriage between Dele and Favour Adewale <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/13\/my-wife-eloped-with-her-lover-after-our-marriage-man-tells-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dissolved<\/a> today. Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife, \u201dhe said.<\/p>\n<p>Koledoye gave custody of their third and fourth children to Favour and ordered Adewale to pay N10, 000 monthly for their feeding.<\/p>\n<p>Adewale was ordered to pay a severance allowance of N150,000 to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/30\/our-children-begged-i-allow-my-husband-have-sex-with-me-so-he-wont-beat-me-to-death-divorce-seeking-wife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wife<\/a> and also pay N200,000 to enable her get an apartment.<\/p>\n<p>The 52-year-old told the court that his wife of 23 years wanted him dead.<\/p>\n<p>According to Adewale: \u201cShe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/17\/update-suicide-note-of-kenyan-woman-who-poisoned-her-2-daughters-killed-herself-over-husbands-infidelity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poisoned<\/a> my food twice. My wife forced me to abandon my house due to her threat to kill me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is violent in nature.
