{"id":142112,"date":"2022-01-31T11:50:33","date_gmt":"2022-01-31T10:50:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=142112"},"modified":"2022-01-31T11:50:33","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T10:50:33","slug":"sister-of-girl-beheaded-by-her-boyfriend-and-his-friends-for-money-ritual-in-ogun-speaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/31\/sister-of-girl-beheaded-by-her-boyfriend-and-his-friends-for-money-ritual-in-ogun-speaks\/","title":{"rendered":"Sister of girl beheaded by her boyfriend and his friends for money ritual in Ogun speaks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Okeowo, elder sister of Rofiat, the young girl who was gruesomely murdered in Abeokuta, Ogun State, by her 18-year-old boyfriend and three of his friends for ritual purposes, speaks after the sad incident.<\/p>\n<p>The heartbroken lady said the family is yet to tell their mother of the gruesome murder of the Rofiat.<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA had reported how Rofiat was lured from her house in the evening of Friday January 28, by Soliu to a building where she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2022\/01\/29\/three-boys-caught-burning-fresh-female-head-for-ritual-in-abeokuta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killed and then beheaded<\/a> by her boyfriend and three of his friends.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects were arrested after a security guard saw them burning the head of the deceased inside a pot and alerted the police.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with PUNCH, Rofiat\u2019s sister recounted the last moments she spent with her sister before she was lured from their house. She said late Rofiat was asked to made beans for the family to eat for dinner. After putting the pot of beans on the fire in the evening, the deceased took permission from her to go out, to which she agreed. She said she had no idea where she was going.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it was around 8:30pm, I called her number and asked if she was coming home tonight. She said she was already on her way and almost home. So, I went to bed. Around 10:00pm, I called her, only to discover that her number was no longer reachable.<\/p>\n<p>I asked her mother if she had seen her daughter, she said no. The following morning, I asked her mother again and she gave the same response.<\/p>\n<p>It was later in the day that I heard that a lady was killed and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/04\/14-year-old-boy-narrates-how-he-escaped-from-kidnappers-den-with-a-woman-whose-son-was-beheaded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beheaded<\/a> in the community. I was suspicious at that moment since I had not seen Rofiat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said when she saw the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/22\/edo-police-arrest-officer-who-assaulted-and-shot-at-travelers-in-viral-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viral video<\/a> showing the suspects that beheaded the lady, she recognized one of them. This prompted her to carry a photo of the deceased to Adatan Police Station where the Divisional Police Officer told them that she had been murdered.<\/p>\n<p>She said their mother, who is suffering from hypertension, has not been informed of the situation because they are afraid something might happen to her if the news was broken to her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we tell her now and she dies, that will leave us with two dead bodies,\u201d she said<\/p>\n<p>She said ever since they warned Rofiat\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/19\/jealous-ghanaian-lady-jailed-for-14-years-in-uk-for-pouring-acid-on-her-boyfriend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boyfriend<\/a> to stop seeing her, she had not laid eyes on him, adding that she \u201cfinds it surprising that he would be the one to kill her sister&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>On what she wants the government to do for her, she said, \u201cGovernment should ensure she\u2019s avenged.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Those that killed her should be killed as well.
