Kano state government has asked the police to exhume the corpse of an Almajiri child allegedly tortured to death by his teacher.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Dr Muhammad Tahar Adamu, gave the directive when he visited the school at Wailari area of Kano State on Tuesday February 1.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls this development is coming after Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko, proprietor of Noble Kids Academy Nursery and Primary School, kidnapped and killed 5-year-old pupil, Hanifa Abubakar<\/a>, and buried her in a shallow grave.<\/p>\n

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident said that some arrest had been made.<\/p>\n

Kiyawa also disclosed that the police raided an illegal rehabilitation centre<\/a> in Naibawa \u2018Yan Lemo Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

He said; \u201cAt about 1100hrs, a report was received from ten (10) escaped inmates of an illegal rehabilitation centre, that one Musa Safiyanu, \u2018m\u2019, 55 years old, of Naibawa \u2018Yan Lemo Quarters, Kumbotso LGA, Kano State is running an illegal rehabilitation centre with chained, tortured<\/a> and locked inmates, from where they escaped.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that, one of the inmates named Aminu Ado, \u2018m\u2019, 22 years old, of Na\u2019ibawa Quarters Kano was tortured to death on the 29\/01\/2022 by Abdulladif Musa, \u2018m\u2019, 18 years old, of Na\u2019ibawa Wailari Quarters Kumbotso LGA, Kano State.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama\u2019ila Shu\u2019aibu Dikko, fsi immediately raised and instructed team of detectives led by CSP Abdulkarim Abdullahi to mount 24 hours surveillance, verify the report, rescue the victims and arrest the culprits.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team immediately swung into action and the report was found to be true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kiyawa also revealed that on January 31, 2022, 113 inmates were discovered confined and locked up in a room.<\/p>\n

He added; \u201cSome with various degrees of injuries resulting from torture. They were rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano for treatment and handed over to Kano State Government. Six suspects; (i) Musa Safiyanu, \u2018m\u2019, of Na\u2019ibawa Yan Lemo Quarters, Kano, (ii) Abdullatif Musa, \u2018m\u2019, 18 years old, of Na\u2019ibawa Wailari Quarters, Kano, (iii) Usman Abdulrauf Imam, \u2018m\u2019, 19 old of Yanya Abuja, (iv) Mustapha Bala, \u2018m\u2019, 20years old, of Azare, Bauchi State, (v) Sadiq Ismail, \u2018m\u2019,19 years old, of Unguwa Uku Quarters, Kano, (6) Umar Bako Abdulwahab, \u2018m\u2019, 38 years old, of Kureken Sani Quarters, Kumbotso LGA Kano State were arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to have been operating the centre for over ten (10) years despite the initial ban by Kano State Government.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
