{"id":143248,"date":"2022-02-02T12:59:04","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T11:59:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=143248"},"modified":"2022-02-02T12:59:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T11:59:04","slug":"abiodun-to-launch-ogun-health-insurance-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/02\/abiodun-to-launch-ogun-health-insurance-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Abiodun to launch Ogun Health Insurance Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State will launch the Basic Health Provision Fund and the Health Insurance Scheme in the state on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>This was said by Mr Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary, on Wednesday in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the implementation of the scheme would begin with the vulnerable groups, including children, nursing mothers, the aged and the physically challenged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe present administration in Ogun, having understood the prevailing economic constraints in the country, is aligning with the global and national agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThis is for the pursuance of the goal of Universal Health Coverage by the year 2025, thereby establishing the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ogun State Health Insurance Agency will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/25\/774000-jobs-reps-probe-fgs-public-works-schemes-failure\/\">responsible<\/a> for mobilizing financial resources for the scheme, pooling of risks, purchase of health care services for the beneficiaries and performing general oversight functions, the statement read in parts.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it noted that the basic benefit package of the scheme would cut across both preventive and curative health services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have taken into cognisance the prevailing local morbidity and mortality profile, including pre-and post-natal care, as well as normal delivery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeneficiaries of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/23\/deceased-doctors-fg-begins-payment-of-benefits-to-beneficiaries\/\">insurance scheme<\/a> will be able to access basic healthcare in primary, secondary and tertiary facilities,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State will launch the Basic Health Provision Fund and the Health Insurance Scheme in the state on Thursday.
