Aisha Mahmoud disclosed this to newsmen after the case came up for mentioning at the Magistrate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/02\/hanifa-abubakar-court-adjourns-case-to-february-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">court.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bar. Mahmoud said the government filed the charges at the High Court because the Magistrate court lacks the jurisdiction to try the offences filed against the defendants.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, \u201cConsidering the offences committed by the accused persons and considering the fact that this court doesn\u2019t have the jurisdiction to trial the case, we informed the court that we have filed a five count charges before the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Chief Judge has directed the case to Court 5 and they are expected to fix a date for the persons to be arraigned before the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on this, we appeal to the court that the accused persons be remanded pending when the case will come up at the High Court,\u201d Bar. Mahmoud however stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Magistrate court presided over by Chief Magistrate Mohammed Jibrin granted the prayers and ordered the accused persons to be remanded in custody.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Magistrate Jubril however adjourned the case to February 9th, 2022.
