{"id":146090,"date":"2022-02-08T20:43:58","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T19:43:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=146090"},"modified":"2022-02-08T20:43:58","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T19:43:58","slug":"fg-confirms-supply-of-adulterated-fuel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/08\/fg-confirms-supply-of-adulterated-fuel\/","title":{"rendered":"FG confirms supply of adulterated fuel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government through the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority has confirmed that petrol, with methanol quantities above Nigeria\u2019s specification, was found in the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>This was confirmed in a statement by NMDPRA.<\/p>\n<p>The statement noted that the supplier had equally been identified and would be sanctioned.<\/p>\n<p>The government assured that the limited quantity of the affected product has been withdrawn from the market .<\/p>\n<p>It also assured that oil marketers had been directed to ensure sufficient supply of petrol in all outlets all over the country.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the statement read, \u201cNMDPRA wishes to inform the public that a limited quantity of petrol with methanol quantities above Nigeria\u2019s specification was discovered in the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMethanol is a regular additive in petrol and usually blended in an acceptable quantity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo ensure vehicular and equipment safety the limited quantity of the impacted product has been isolated and withdrawn from the market including loaded trucks in transit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The government assured that a technical team in conjunction with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/07\/nnpc-will-deepen-natural-gas-utilisation-to-reduce-energy-poverty-kyari\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NNPC<\/a> will monitor and ensure quality [petroleum products are adequately supplied .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe source supplier has been identified and further commercial and appropriate actions shall be taken by the authority and NNPC Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, NNPC Ltd has intensified efforts at increasing the supply of petrol into the market in order to bridge any unforeseen supply gap,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government through the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority has confirmed that petrol, with methanol quantities above Nigeria\u2019s specification, was found in the supply chain.
