{"id":147507,"date":"2022-02-11T19:57:52","date_gmt":"2022-02-11T18:57:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=147507"},"modified":"2022-02-11T19:57:52","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T18:57:52","slug":"ondo-prophetess-arraigned-in-court-over-murder-of-church-member","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/11\/ondo-prophetess-arraigned-in-court-over-murder-of-church-member\/","title":{"rendered":"Ondo prophetess arraigned in court over murder of church member"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For allegedly killing a member of her church, the General Overseer of the All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government, known as Prophetess Serah Abuloye, has been arraigned in court.<\/p>\n<p>The 49- year-old prophetess who\u00a0was slammed with two count <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/22\/lagosian-arraigned-for-alleged-n26-6bn-investment-fraud\/\">charges<\/a> of conspiracy and murder, is accused of killing and dumping\u00a037- year- old Adefunke Aselogbon in a bush behind her church on January 6, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The prophetess is accused of committing the\u00a0offence at about 4.00am along Isarun Road, Igbara-oke in\u00a0Ondo State Magisterial District.<\/p>\n<p>Police Prosecutor, Obalasa Ajiboye noted that the offence are\u00a0contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.<\/p>\n<p>He also asked the\u00a0court to remand the defendant to Correctional centres custody pending the outcome of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).<\/p>\n<p>Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ola Adedire, did not oppose the prosecutor\u2019s application.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni\u00a0ordered the remand of the defendant in\u00a0police custody and adjourned the case till February 18, 2022 for ruling on remand application.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For allegedly killing a member of her church, the General Overseer of the All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government, known as Prophetess Serah Abuloye, has been arraigned in court.
