The former Ekiti Governor Segun Oni said he has not moved to a new party yet.<\/p>\n

He made this known, one week after dumping the opposition People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP),<\/p>\n

Oni denied the speculation milling round
\nthat he has pitched his tents with the All Progressive Grand Alliance<\/a> (APGA), describing it as absolute falsehood and handiwork of mischief makers.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Sunday by the Director of Media and Publicity of Engr Segun Oni Movement, Jackson Adebayo, the former Governor said he was party less at the moment.<\/p>\n

Oni dismissed as puerile and barefaced lies the rumour that he has joined APGA as well as pulled out of the party again, adding it was part of calculated attempts by those who are being threatened by his soaring popularity.<\/p>\n

He explained that though many political parties approached him to fly their ticket in June 18 governorship election, he declined because consultation with the people of Ekiti was yet to be concluded.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt now became laughable reading on social media that Segun Oni is leaving APGA that he has never joined before; or how can you resign from an association you never belong.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough, some stakeholders in Ekiti project did approached to convince Oni on reasons he should agreed to contest on APGA\u2019s platform he declined arguing that the people of Ekiti State would come up with a party they love before the close of the window.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people behind such concocted lies and rumours are those who were being taunted by the geometrical growing of Segun Oni popularity and the negative effects it will have on other political party in Ekiti State.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat they wanted to achieve with such a blackmail has however backfired on them as the people of the state refused to buy into the shenanigans; as it stands today the only person that the people could trust with the governance of the state is Eng Segun Oni as evidently displays at every nooks and crannies of the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would not be bother by this kind of balderdash in the build up to the June 18 governorship poll as we are too focused than to be distracted by the writings that was rumbled primarily together to cause confusion,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
