{"id":149650,"date":"2022-02-16T19:51:13","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T18:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=149650"},"modified":"2022-02-16T19:51:13","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T18:51:13","slug":"we-regret-pains-caused-by-adulterated-fuel-nnpc-begs-nigerians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/16\/we-regret-pains-caused-by-adulterated-fuel-nnpc-begs-nigerians\/","title":{"rendered":"We regret pains caused by adulterated fuel \u2013 NNPC begs Nigerians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari has tendered apologies to Nigerians on the imported adulterated fuel.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kyari issued the apology on Wednesday while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on downstream.<\/p>\n<p>It would be recalled that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/11\/we-did-not-import-adulterated-petrol-oando-replies-nnpc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NNPC<\/a> had imported Premium Motor Spirit with excess methanol level above the Nigerian market specification.<\/p>\n<p>The House had directed the committee on petroleum resources, downstream to investigate the importation and ordered that marketers who imported the fuel be suspended.<\/p>\n<p>During his appearance, Kyari said the importation was unavoidable, he, therefore, apologised to Nigerians for the huge error.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe regret this situation. It is completely unavoidable, we didn\u2019t see it coming. We apologise to Nigerians.
