{"id":150117,"date":"2022-02-17T21:24:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-17T20:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=150117"},"modified":"2022-02-17T21:24:57","modified_gmt":"2022-02-17T20:24:57","slug":"fuel-crisis-to-end-next-week-nnpc-assures-nec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/17\/fuel-crisis-to-end-next-week-nnpc-assures-nec\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel crisis to end next week \u2013 NNPC assures NEC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has assured that the scarcity of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol across the country will disappear next week.<\/p>\n<p>It explained that it has set out measures to mitigate the crisis, even as it said 30 vessels will supply additional 2.3 billion litres of the product until the end of February.<\/p>\n<p>This was part of the updates availed the National Economic Council (NEC) presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo\u00a0with Governors, Ministers and other top government officials in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>NEC is composed of all 36 Governors; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and some other members of the Federal Executive Council.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity Office of the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, the NNPC said as the supplier of last resort, it has continued to sustain adequate petroleum products supply and distribution to the nation, despite challenges associated with the unending waves of pipeline <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/03\/nnpc-pipeline-vandalism-increased-by-29-in-march\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vandalism<\/a>, product theft and cross-border smuggling of PMS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c30 vessels to deliver an additional supply of 2.3 Billion litres of PMS into the country till month-end February, 2022<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNNPC\u2019S strategy is on for restoring stability in PMS supply and distribution by boosting incoming PMS supplies, recertification and release of in-country PMS stock and enhancing distribution management,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has assured that the scarcity of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol across the country will disappear next week.
