Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is “healthier than most young Nigerians” criticising him on health issues.<\/p>\n

This was made known on Thursday by Garba Shehu via Zoom in an\u00a0interview on Channels Television.<\/p>\n

Buhari is currently in Brussels, Belgium, for the sixth European Union-African Union (EU-AU) summit.<\/p>\n

In some of the pictures of the president in Belgium posted on social media platforms<\/a>, he is seen dressed in what appears to be a casual outfit, which is relatively unusual for Buhari.<\/p>\n

The president\u2019s casual look has elicited varied reactions.<\/p>\n

Asked to react to comments on Buhari\u2019s outfit in Belgium, Shehu said Nigerians have started to appreciate that the president is in \u201cgood health\u201d as seen in some of his recent pictures.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president is keen. For us, what is most impressive here is that people are beginning to appreciate that the president is in good health and it was manifested from some of these pictures that they came across,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat should dispel whatever fears that some people have. A lot of rumours concerning his health and all of that, generated by people of ill will; people who know nothing about these things.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe keep saying this that the president is healthier than a lot of the young people who are attacking him on these matters. This continues to be proved by his outings as we have seen in Belgium.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since his assumption to the office of president, Buhari has visited the United Kingdom on several occasions for medical treatment \u2014 a development that has raised questions on his health status.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
