{"id":151747,"date":"2022-02-21T12:49:21","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T11:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=151747"},"modified":"2022-02-21T12:49:21","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T11:49:21","slug":"why-tithe-defaulters-are-criminals-pastor-ibiyeomie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/21\/why-tithe-defaulters-are-criminals-pastor-ibiyeomie\/","title":{"rendered":"Why tithe defaulters are criminals \u2013 Pastor Ibiyeomie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministry has slammed tithe defaulters, declaring them as criminals.<\/p>\n<p>The outspoken clergyman who insisted that tithe is compulsory said that those who refuse to remit their tithes, (10 percent of all their incomes) to church are criminals, and the offence is punishable.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the church\u2019s service in Port Harcourt on Sunday, the renowned pastor who likened <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/23\/tithing-is-a-sinful-practice-that-carries-a-curse-for-christians-daddy-freeze\/\">tithing<\/a> to payment of tax to government, said remitting the 10 percent of all incomes to church, is compulsory.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cTax is the government\u2019s share, so you don\u2019t say I want to give the government my tax, you say you want to pay tax, that is how tithe is God\u2019s own. Leviticus 27:30. God is the owner of the tithe. So, what do you do?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou pay, it\u2019s only in Nigeria you don\u2019t pay tax and they can leave you, in the Western world it is a big criminal offence, if you don\u2019t pay tithe, you are a criminal, your offence is punishable, tithe is simply one-tenth of your income, 10 percent of your income goes to God.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Ibiyeomie also argued that some Christians experience near success syndrome (failure at the edge of breakthrough) because of their reluctancy in paying their tithes, stressing that inability to pay tithe attracts curses.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cNear success syndrome will not happen. If you\u2019re experiencing near success syndrome don\u2019t go for deliverance, you\u2019re not a tither. Anything that I do, when it is close to manifestation, the thing will just go off, you\u2019re not a faithful tither.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany deliverance ministries, they just go for deliverance, this is the problem, they don\u2019t pay Tithe faithfully. Yet, they will say anything I want to do, when it is about to click it will just go off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is near success syndrome. Correct it from tithing, don\u2019t correct it from seven days deliverance.
