{"id":151894,"date":"2022-02-21T18:22:27","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T17:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=151894"},"modified":"2022-02-21T18:22:27","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T17:22:27","slug":"fg-reveals-why-e-customs-is-yet-to-take-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/21\/fg-reveals-why-e-customs-is-yet-to-take-off\/","title":{"rendered":"FG reveals why e-Customs is yet to take off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hajia Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning has informed the House of Representatives that\u00a0legal issues were holding back the commencement of the e-Customs mordenisation project.<\/p>\n<p>Zainab in her presentation to the joint committee on Customs and Excise, Finance as well as Banking and Currency said the Federal Government found out the company awarded the contract in 2017 lacked the technical capacity to execute the project while also breaching some.provisions of the contract.<\/p>\n<p>She said further that Messr Adani Nigeria Limited, who were awarded the contract by the Technical Committee on Comprehensive Import Supervision Scheme, leased the contract to another company Adani International Limited based in the UK and registered four months after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/13\/moses-reveals-who-convinced-him-to-renew-spartak-moscow-contract\/\">contract<\/a> was signed.<\/p>\n<p>She said after the cancellation of the contract, Adani Nigeria Limited filed three different suits against the Federal Government alleging breach of contract, adding that the law suits which are yet to be decided by the Court are holding back commencement of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Comptroller General of Customs, Col.
