As the 2023 elections approach, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has asked the elder generation to stand aside in order to make way for the younger.<\/p>\n

Obasanjo stated that the older generation should provide the necessary information and expertise to the younger generation in order to develop Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The former President<\/a> addressed at the Murtala Muhammed Foundation’s annual lecture for 2022 yesterday.<\/p>\n

He chastised aging politicians who are still running for President in 2023.<\/p>\n

According to Obasanjo: \u201cWe need to have an intergenerational collaboration. Fayemi said he was in primary school when Murtala and Obasanjo<\/a> were there.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if people of the Murtala\/Obasanjo era are competing with you as Governor, then, something is wrong.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Murtala\/Obasanjo group should be stepping aside.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever experience and knowledge we have, we should be able to give it to you and you should be able to give it to those coming after you.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
