{"id":156189,"date":"2022-03-02T16:50:41","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T15:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=156189"},"modified":"2022-03-02T16:50:41","modified_gmt":"2022-03-02T15:50:41","slug":"lekki-deep-seaport-81-completed-icrc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/02\/lekki-deep-seaport-81-completed-icrc\/","title":{"rendered":"Lekki deep seaport 81% completed \u2013 ICRC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) says the Lekki Deep Sea Port project is now over 80 per cent completed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ICRC, \u201calthough it was widely reported across several media outlets that the project is at 96 per cent completion, the Commission wishes to clarify that the project is at 81.14 per cent completion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued Wednesday in Abuja, Manji Yarling, Acting Head, Media &amp; Publicity, ICRC said a breakdown of the completion status shows that: \u201cdredging and reclamation are at 90.93%, Quay Walls at 87.3%, Breakwater at 82.74% and Landside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/22\/2022-fg-to-spend-n3-53tn-on-infrastructure-human-capital-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Infrastructure<\/a> at 70%, bringing to a total of 81.14%.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson noted that as regulators of all concession agreements entered into by the Federal Government of Nigeria, \u201cICRC deems it imperative to clarify this information and present the correct figure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Concessionaire, Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Ltd, is working round the clock to ensure the project is completed on schedule \u2013 The project is expected to be completed in September 2022 and become operational in December 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On its part, he affirmed the ICRC will continue to carry out its regulatory function to ensure that the project, like all other government concessions yield the desired value for money, profitability, efficiency, economic growth, job creation and other gains for which the contract was entered into.<\/p>\n<p>The Lekki Deep Sea Port project is a 45 years concession by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) awarded on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion, Lekki Port will have a total of 3 container berths, 1 dry bulk berth and 3 liquid berths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) says the Lekki Deep Sea Port project is now over 80 per cent completed.
