{"id":156369,"date":"2022-03-03T05:15:07","date_gmt":"2022-03-03T04:15:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=156369"},"modified":"2022-03-03T05:15:53","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T04:15:53","slug":"three-killed-as-bus-rammed-into-stationary-truck-in-rivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/03\/three-killed-as-bus-rammed-into-stationary-truck-in-rivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Three killed as bus rams into stationary truck in Rivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three male adults have been killed in a fatal crash which involved a Toyota Hiace bus and a Mercedez Benz 911 truck along the Eleme-Oyigbo Road in Rivers State.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/01\/12-burnt-to-death-in-kano-auto-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crash<\/a> was said to have occurred around 6.35am on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to PUNCH, a resident, who identified himself as ThankGod, said the bus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/03\/tragedy-as-truck-rams-into-market-kills-6-in-aba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rammed<\/a> into the stationary truck, which had developed a fault and was parked two days earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was blood all over the road. I saw policemen attending to the victims and making phone calls probably to reach out to their families,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/21\/frsc-4-die-7-injured-in-bauchi-auto-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FRSC<\/a>, attributed the crash to speeding and poor visibility.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Operations, FRSC, Rivers State Command, Chukwuma Mbaegbu, said, \u201cYes, it happened early this morning (Wednesday). Five male adults were involved. Three died and two were injured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cause of the crash was speeding and poor visibility.
