{"id":156825,"date":"2022-03-04T04:08:01","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T03:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=156825"},"modified":"2022-03-04T14:51:39","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T13:51:39","slug":"couple-remanded-for-alleged-murder-of-22-year-old-woman-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/04\/couple-remanded-for-alleged-murder-of-22-year-old-woman-in-ogun\/","title":{"rendered":"Ogun court rejects plea for couple who killed 22-year-old woman, sold her head for N70,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple, Kehinde Oladimeji, 43, and Adejumoke Raji, 35, have been remanded in Oba and Ibara Correctional centres respectively for alleged murder of one Ife Adeh, a 22-year-old woman in Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants, who were being tried on two counts of conspiracy and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/21\/south-african-woman-and-alleged-boyfriend-arrested-over-murder-of-her-husband\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murder<\/a>, reside at No. 72 MKO Abiola Way, Leme area in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Prosecution Counsel, Miss Oluwatosin Jackson, told the Magistrates\u2019 Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta that the defendants committed the offence on Jan.12, at Leme area of Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/15\/how-we-killed-my-wifes-friend-sold-her-head-for-n70000-ogun-man-confesses\/\">Jackson said that the couple conspired and murdered Odeh, who was a close friend of Adejumoke<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She said Adejumoke allegedly invited the deceased (her friend) to her house and prepared noodles with sleeping substance.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor added that, while the deceased slept off after the meal, Adejumoke allegedly strangled her and butchered her body, and sold the head for N70,000 to one ritualist in Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson also alleged that the offensive odour that emitted from the remaining part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/03\/amotekun-apprehends-herbalist-with-coffin-dismembered-body-in-ogun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismembered body<\/a> in Adejumoke\u2019s room attracted neighbours\u2019 attention, leading to their arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said that the offence contravened sections 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate I.
