{"id":15776,"date":"2021-03-31T18:30:42","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T17:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=15776"},"modified":"2021-03-31T18:30:42","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T17:30:42","slug":"police-rescue-eight-kidnap-victims-recover-ak-49-rifle-in-kaduna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/31\/police-rescue-eight-kidnap-victims-recover-ak-49-rifle-in-kaduna\/","title":{"rendered":"Police rescue eight kidnap victims, recover AK-49 rifle in Kaduna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eight kidnapped victims have been rescued and one AK-49 rifle recovered from operatives of Kaduna State Police Command.<\/p>\n<p>This was contained in a statement released on Tuesday, March 30 by the police public relations officer in the state, Mohammed Jalige.<\/p>\n<p>The PPRO said\u00a0the victims were abducted by bandits along the Kaduna-Zaria Expressway aboard a luxury bus on February 29, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On 29th March 2021 at about 0600hrs men of Operation Puff Adder II attached to Kaduna Command while on routine patrol along Galidamawa\/Kidandan area of Giwa LGA intercepted a group of armed bandits alongside some victims in their possession on sighting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/29\/photos-police-arrest-16-suspects-linked-to-killings-of-security-operatives-across-the-country\/\">operatives<\/a> they took to their heels abandoning their victims and one (1)AK49 rifle in the process eight (8) victims were rescued unhurt including a female,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The rescued victims are, Bala Ibrahim, Ede Gloria from Ebonyi State, Japheth Sani,\u00a0Kebbi State, Kinsley Edgbue from Delta State, Ifeanyi Samuel, Enugu State, Anthony Okafor, Gabriel Agu, and Chibuzo Nwokorie, all from Anambra state.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-transform: initial\">&#8221;The victims later stated that they were abducted along Zaria \u2013Kaduna expressway aboard luxurious bus on 29th February 2021, eroute Delta state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;However, the victims are currently receiving medical attention in preparation for reunion with their respective families.
