{"id":157857,"date":"2022-03-06T13:28:04","date_gmt":"2022-03-06T12:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=157857"},"modified":"2022-03-06T13:28:59","modified_gmt":"2022-03-06T12:28:59","slug":"two-dead-eight-injured-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/06\/two-dead-eight-injured-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Two dead, eight injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two persons have been confirmed dead while eight others injured in a lone accident at Mile 12 market, Ogere, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/18\/17-burnt-to-death-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accident<\/a> occurred on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Umar said the diesel truck with registration number BR 446 XE was speeding when it hit the median and fell on its side at about 7:18 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/20\/truck-crushes-vehicles-on-lagos-ibadan-expressway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">truck<\/a> was loaded with bags of sugar while some of the victims were sitting on the bags before the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/21\/frsc-4-die-7-injured-in-bauchi-auto-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FRSC<\/a> boss stated that 15 people were involved in the accident, comprising 14 men and one woman.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the eight people injured were all men, saying that two persons died in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne vehicle was involved with registration number BR 446 XE, a Man diesel truck,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Umar said the deceased had been deposited at FOS morgue, Ipara, while injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The sector commander warned motorists against speeding and dangerous driving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two persons have been confirmed dead while eight others injured in a lone accident at Mile 12 market, Ogere, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
