{"id":159197,"date":"2022-03-09T04:56:14","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T03:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=159197"},"modified":"2022-03-09T04:56:14","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T03:56:14","slug":"slain-oau-student-how-adegokes-body-was-evacuated-dumped-in-bush-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/09\/slain-oau-student-how-adegokes-body-was-evacuated-dumped-in-bush-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Slain OAU student: How Adegoke\u2019s body was evacuated, dumped in bush \u2013 Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Investigative Police Officer, Inspector Afeez Olaniyan, has narrated how some defendants arraigned in connection with the death of late Timothy Adegoke, a Master\u2019s student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, evacuated and dumped its corpse in the bush.<\/p>\n<p>Olaniyan disclosed this during the continuation of the trial on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the statement extracted from Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem, two of the staffers of the Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, after the death of the late <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/08\/i-my-brothers-widow-were-offered-n120m-for-settlement-slain-oau-students-sibling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adegoke<\/a>, said his corpse was wrapped with a duvet, and taken out in a Hilux van driven by the son of the hotel owner, Roheem Adedoyin, to where it was dumped.<\/p>\n<p>He said; \u201cwe were able to establish that late Timothy actually lodged at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/30\/how-hilton-hotel-monitored-my-husband-before-he-was-killed-wife-of-oau-mba-student-adegoke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hilton Hotel<\/a> on November 5, 2021. The lifeless body of late Adegoke was discovered on Sunday 7th November, and the corpse was disrespected by removing unlawfully and dumped on the refuse site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the statement made by Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem, they told me that the corpse was wrapped with a carton and duvet which they put in a sealed bag and carried him at the back of Hilux vehicle driven by Roheem Adedoyin to the point where it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/13\/man-hacked-to-death-in-imo-lifeless-body-dumped-by-the-roadside\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dumped<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was doctoring of the hotel documents which the original one was later discovered from Adesola\u2019s phone. Circumstances that surrounded the death was highly suspicious and that was why the corpse was deposited for expert opinion to ascertain the cause of the death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI visited room 305 where the deceased was lodged. It was observed that the mattress inside the room was new compare to the ones in the other rooms. I asked why the new mattress. The response was that the hotel was initially known to be Hotel Di Ganga and the taken over necessitated the changes of some of the mattresses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, I noticed something like blood pattern on the door. We decided to lock the room and went away with the key. On our next visit to the room, we went with an expert, the Crime Scene Manager, DSP Kilani, he confirmed that some of the pattern were mere paint and he took the one suspected to be blood for further examination.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Olaniyan further stated that during his visit to the hotel, he observed that the DVR powering the facility\u2019s CCTV cameras was disabled and was told that it was disabled due to the renovation work being done in the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Adepele Ojo later adjourned the case to March 16, when the pathologist would give evidence before the court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Investigative Police Officer, Inspector Afeez Olaniyan, has narrated how some defendants arraigned in connection with the death of late Timothy Adegoke, a Master\u2019s student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, evacuated and dumped its corpse in the bush.
