{"id":161628,"date":"2022-03-14T10:00:35","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T09:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=161628"},"modified":"2022-03-14T10:00:35","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T09:00:35","slug":"asuu-insists-utas-payment-platform-didnt-fail-integrity-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/14\/asuu-insists-utas-payment-platform-didnt-fail-integrity-test\/","title":{"rendered":"ASUU insists UTAS payment platform didn\u2019t fail integrity test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has insisted its University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) did not fail an integrity test.<\/p>\n<p>The test on the payment platform was carried out by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).<\/p>\n<p>Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/14\/breaking-asuu-extends-strike-for-2-months\/\">ASUU President<\/a>, recalled it happened on August 10, 2021, before the National Universities Commission in a statement on Sunday (NUC).<\/p>\n<p>According to the union head, all relevant government authorities, as well as university end-users, were present.<\/p>\n<p>All indicated pleasure with UTAS as an appropriate method for wage payment in universities, according to Osodeke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was attested to by the report coming from NITDA then, to the effect that UTAS scored 85 per cent in User Acceptance Test (UAT)\u201d, he noted.<\/p>\n<p>The NITDA Technical Team reported that out of 687 test cases, 529 cases were satisfactory, 156 cases queried and 2 cases cautioned, according to Osodeke.<\/p>\n<p>The President said on its face value, the score was 77 per cent and questioned if the percentage should be categorized as a failure.<\/p>\n<p>He confirmed that observations and questions were raised by NITDA to which UTAS technical team has to provide clarification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we speak, our engagement with NITDA over the second round of testing continues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNITDA gave a report to the fact that UTAS did well in both the integrity test and user acceptability verification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly, 85 percent and 77 percent are high class grades in any known evaluation system,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On Data Centre and hosting of UTAS software, ASUU maintained that these \u201care clearly outside\u201d its responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Osodeke added that ASUU and NITDA were still engaged in the testing process and urged the latter to encourage local content development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has insisted its University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) did not fail an integrity test.
