{"id":161824,"date":"2022-03-14T16:39:32","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T15:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=161824"},"modified":"2022-03-14T16:39:32","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T15:39:32","slug":"lcc-to-resume-toll-operations-at-lekki-ikoyi-link-bridge-april-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/14\/lcc-to-resume-toll-operations-at-lekki-ikoyi-link-bridge-april-1\/","title":{"rendered":"LCC to resume toll operations at Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge April 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) has declared the commencement of toll operations at the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge plaza in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that\u00a0<span class=\"s2\">LCC had suspended operations at the Lekki tollgate after the shooting of protesters during the #<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/09\/insurers-association-over-n11-bn-paid-for-losses-suffered-during-endsars-protests\/\">EndSARS protest<\/a> on October 20, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Some facilities at the toll plaza were also destroyed during the protest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The state judicial panel in February 2021 had approved the reopening of the tollgate, but the ruling met objections in some quarters.<\/p>\n<p>The company via a statement disclosed that<span class=\"s2\">\u00a0tolling operations will commence on April 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The LCC said commuters plying the road will not pay any toll for the first two weeks until 15th April 2022 \u201cas this period would be toll-free to all motorists plying the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to Yomi Omomuwasan, LCC\u2019s managing director, the resumption of services at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge Toll Plaza is coming after extensive consultations with key <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/22\/danbatta-well-improve-telecom-infrastructure-through-collaboration-with-stakeholders\/\">stakeholders<\/a> including the residents\u2019 associations, traditional rulers and community leaders, professional bodies, as well as the Lagos government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Omnomuwasan said LCC is back to serve commuters and the community better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cWe have introduced new technology and innovations to make passages at the Toll Plaza seamless and faster for commuters. We are replacing old toll devices with upgraded ones for faster throughput at the Toll Plaza,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe new devices have been configured to synchronise with the newly upgraded tolling systems and will improve functionality while enabling a better experience at the Toll Plaza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe devices can be installed at any of LCC Customer Service Centres at the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza, Conservation Toll Plaza, or the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. They can also be delivered to customers\u2019 preferred location, whilst the devices would only be installed on the vehicle by LCC\u2019s authorised personnel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He added that for\u00a0further information on upgrading toll devices, modifying an existing toll account, or registering new vehicles, customers should contact LCC on its toll-free customer helpline 0800 22 555 22, send an email to customerservice@lcc.com.ng, or visit the website www.lcc.com.ng.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) has declared the commencement of toll operations at the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge plaza in Lagos.
