{"id":16414,"date":"2021-04-02T06:29:07","date_gmt":"2021-04-02T05:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=16414"},"modified":"2021-04-02T06:29:07","modified_gmt":"2021-04-02T05:29:07","slug":"assault-danladi-umar-asked-me-to-use-biafran-boys-in-his-response-cct-spokesperson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/02\/assault-danladi-umar-asked-me-to-use-biafran-boys-in-his-response-cct-spokesperson\/","title":{"rendered":"Assault: Danladi Umar asked me to use &#8216;Biafran boys&#8217; in his response &#8211; CCT spokesperson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spokesperson of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Ibraheem Al-Hassan has disclosed that his principal, Danladi Umar asked him to use Biafran boys in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>This disclosure was made by the CCT chairman in an interview with ICIR.<\/p>\n<p>He also disclosed that\u00a0he wrote the statement defending his boss, Danladi Umar over the assault case against him under intense pressure.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that Danladi Umar, the CCT Boss was caught on camera beating a security man when he visited a popular plaza in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The statement which was issued by Al-Hassan in defence of the CCT Chairman\u00a0after the video of the assault had gone viral was a complete ridicule of the English language.<\/p>\n<p>Grammatical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/25\/bobboi-appraising-a-reformer-at-pef\/\">errors<\/a> such as \u201cvideo cliff\u201d instead of \u201cvideo clip\u201d;\u00a0 \u201cpacking lot\u201d instead of \u201cparking lot\u201d;\u00a0 \u201crode\u201d instead of \u201crude\u201d; \u201cfixe\u201d instead of \u201cfix\u201d littered the statement.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ICIR,\u00a0Al-Hassan said the CCT was considering disowning the statement because of the controversy it has generated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe revealed that his boss instructed him to use \u2018Biafran boys\u2019 in the statement \u2026 the PRO said he later realised his mistake,\u201d the media house wrote of the interview.<\/p>\n<p>It further quoted the CCT spokesman to have said: \u201cThere\u2019s a problem with that statement. In fact, we are about disowning it. We want to retract the content because it was written under intense pressure. I must confess to you, that is why there are many structural imbalances, language structure not being perfect and, again, some of the expressions used. I acted on instruction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow as I am speaking with you, I\u2019m in my ministry. My ministry has summoned me for that statement.\u00a0 My minister, so to say, through my director. So, I should be given some time to get this problem solved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the grammatical errors and what have you were not noted.
