{"id":164322,"date":"2022-03-19T19:14:59","date_gmt":"2022-03-19T18:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=164322"},"modified":"2022-03-19T19:14:59","modified_gmt":"2022-03-19T18:14:59","slug":"how-we-escaped-from-bandits-den-in-katsina-teenage-girls-recount","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/19\/how-we-escaped-from-bandits-den-in-katsina-teenage-girls-recount\/","title":{"rendered":"How we escaped from bandits\u2019 den in Katsina \u2013 Teenage girls recount"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two female teenagers, Mubaraka Naziru and Amina Rabiu, have narrated how they disappeared from the forest when the bandits guarding them drank to stupor and fell deeply asleep.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the two teenagers were abducted when bandits invaded Batsari in Katsina State on Wednesday around 12 am.<\/p>\n<p>The two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/14\/two-teenagers-face-trial-over-alleged-murder-of-nigerian-pastor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">teenagers<\/a>, who said the bandits promised them that they will be married off as soon as they were taken to their kingpin, said they were served with bottled juice and loaves of bread while the bandits consumed alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Naziru, while speaking to journalists, said as the bandits went into a deep sleep, and were snoring, they quietly moved from the scene and gradually walked through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/07\/hoodlums-shoot-enugu-catholic-priest-dump-him-inside-the-bush\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bush<\/a>. Though they didn\u2019t know the direction they were going, they walked throughout the night in a bush.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon realizing that they were unconscious, we decided to run away.
