{"id":170778,"date":"2022-04-01T13:43:48","date_gmt":"2022-04-01T12:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=170778"},"modified":"2022-04-01T13:43:48","modified_gmt":"2022-04-01T12:43:48","slug":"nipost-introduces-e-commerce-financial-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/01\/nipost-introduces-e-commerce-financial-services\/","title":{"rendered":"NIPOST introduces e-commerce, financial services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) said it has introduced financial services, E-commerce and logistics for effective service delivery in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Ismail Adewusi, the Postmaster-General of NIPOST, made the announcement on Friday during the 33rd Enugu International Trade Fair in Enugu.<\/p>\n<p>Adewusi, who was represented by NIPOST&#8217;s Director of Marketing, Mrs Ijeoma Onuekwusi, stated that the services were implemented in accordance with worldwide best practices in order to better serve their countless clients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese financial services help individuals, institutions and corporate bodies to send money locally and internationally while E- commerce allows customers to move their household items,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that the introduction of SpeedAF, using trucks had helped in evacuation of large mails, adding that the truck usually transported up to 10 to 20 tons of mails at a time.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, NIPOST is diversifying its products and services to bring in better services and ensure customer satisfaction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNIPOST has changed from analogue to digital services to enhance its performance. We now track and trace our products when we send them out through digital means.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we are at the fair to let Nigerians know that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/11\/nipost-reclaims-collection-of-stamp-duty-charges-from-firs\/\">NIPOST<\/a> is still in existence with different products and services as well as creating awareness on them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The postmaster-general said, \u201cWith the new products and services, the patronage has doubled\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Adewusi further explained that a property development company would help NIPOST harness and control its property scattered all over the country, saying there were some of their property people had taken.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the state Postal Manager, Mr Ivue Ubogu, said the office recorded an improvement at the fair as customers were patronising them and asked questions about their products.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that NIPOST increased domestic postage from N50 to N250 for effective service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Ubogu noted that in spite the advent of social media and phones that people used to disseminate information, the relevance of NIPOST cannot be underrated.<\/p>\n<p>The manager said, \u201cWe do not have problem with phones as we cannot use it to send letters and people come with their physical item, we deliver them to their destinations all over the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) said it has introduced financial services, E-commerce and logistics for effective service delivery in the country.
