{"id":172304,"date":"2022-04-05T06:01:55","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T05:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=172304"},"modified":"2022-04-05T06:04:18","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T05:04:18","slug":"pdp-governors-to-garba-shehu-life-has-become-valueless-under-apc-misrule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/05\/pdp-governors-to-garba-shehu-life-has-become-valueless-under-apc-misrule\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP governors to Garba Shehu: Life has become valueless under APC misrule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have stated that life has become valueless under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated in response to a statement issued by<span class=\"s1\">\u00a0Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Recall that\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">Shehu had said the PDP governors, in describing the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a \u201cmenace\u201d to Nigerians, were attempting to cover up the \u201cserial failure\u201d of the opposition party\u2019s previous years in office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Shehu\u2019s comment came after the governors, on March 23, declared that the APC is unfit to participate in the 2023 general election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a statement issued on Monday, C.I.D. Maduabum, director-general of the PDP governors\u2019 forum, said Shehu is \u201cenveloped in the presidential villa and totally oblivious of the suffering and agony Nigerians are facing\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201dWe are moved to respond to the infantile, ignorant, pedestrian, low quality, confused and rambling response of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/28\/new-electoral-act-will-address-misuse-of-public-funds-for-political-campaign-garba-shehu\/\">Garba Shehu<\/a>, spokesman of the so-called Presidency, an amorphous entity, to the fact-filled patriotic, well thought-out chronicle of the dire living conditions of Nigerians by the PDP Governors in their communiqu\u00e9 of March 23, 2022, for the need to set the records straight,\u201d the statement reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cGarba Shehu described the communiqu\u00e9 as a fantasy, delusional and fictional. He even derided Nigerian armed forces as \u2018phantom soldiers\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cPerhaps he was dazed by the sheer assemblage of facts, figures and evidence on the existential threat Nigeria is facing as a result of the APC misrule, with respect to the economy, security, stealing of Nigeria\u2019s crude, etc., as contained in the communiqu\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe PDP Governors communiqu\u00e9 made a comparative sketch of Nigeria of 2015 under PDP and Nigeria of 2022 under APC. The communiqu\u00e9 reeled out the fact that in almost all sectors, things have gotten worse by over 1000%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis is reflected in prices of basic foodstuffs, unemployment rate, electricity prices, kerosene, diesel, fuel, aviation fuel and air ticket prices which have all gone through the roof. It reeled out figures on poverty, inflation, exchange rate, debt accumulation and corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIndeed, all aspects of life in Nigeria are being systematically destroyed by the APC administration. Life has become short, brutish and valueless in Buhari\u2019s Nigeria as insecurity ravages the land. But this is not the problem of Garba Shehu, who is enveloped in the Presidential Villa, totally oblivious of the suffering and agony Nigerians are facing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The PDP governors also said the Buhari administration has not done enough to address the country\u2019s security challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cGarba Shehu accused PDP Governors of influencing ethnic and religious tensions. How does pointing out the deteriorating state of affairs in Nigeria inflame ethnic and religious tensions?\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">The Buhari Presidency by all objective accounts is the worst in Nigeria\u2019s history in managing our diversity,\u201d the governors said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cUnder APC\u2019s 7 years rule, Nigerians no longer trust one another, ethnic and religious differences are not properly managed. All our fault lines are exposed and exacerbated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cGarba Shehu had the temerity to praise the military success under Buhari as compared to the PDP. That someone in today\u2019s Nigeria can be this tone-deaf to the cheapening of life in Nigeria under the watch of the APC is to say the least, unfortunate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe recent events in Kaduna have brought trauma and shame to Nigeria.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">There can be no better evidence of government adrift, unconcerned and rudderless \u2014 without care about how the economy runs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have stated that life has become valueless under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
