{"id":175099,"date":"2022-04-10T10:13:56","date_gmt":"2022-04-10T09:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=175099"},"modified":"2022-04-10T10:13:56","modified_gmt":"2022-04-10T09:13:56","slug":"customers-lawsuit-we-will-respect-obey-court-judgment-peace-mass-transit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/10\/customers-lawsuit-we-will-respect-obey-court-judgment-peace-mass-transit\/","title":{"rendered":"Customer&#8217;s lawsuit: We will respect, obey court judgment \u2013 Peace mass transit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of Nigeria&#8217;s leading transport companies, Peace Mass Transit (PMT) Limited says it will continue to uphold the rule of law and will not do anything that undermines Nigeria&#8217;s judiciary and justice system.<\/p>\n<p>The General Manager, Peace Mass Transit (PMT) Limited, Ifeanyi Enete, who gave the assurance at the weekend, said the transport company is a law-abiding corporate entity, hence will continue to do everything within its power to obey court processes and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The company made the remarks in reaction to a suit preferred against it by one of its customers via an Enugu High Court dated Thursday, April 7th, 2022,<\/p>\n<p>In a statement seen by WITHIN NIGERIA, the company stated that it would take immediate steps to address the outcome of the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The management of the company disclosed that it will study the said judgment with its lawyers with a view to determining the next step it will take.<\/p>\n<p>It, however stated that in line with its operational guidelines its policy on refund is effective in the event of unforeseen service failure, particularly when it is operationally impossible to fully deliver.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/10\/08\/mass-transit-operators-beg-ebonyi-govt-for-extension-of-relocation-deadline\/\">Mass transit operators beg Ebonyi govt for extension of relocation deadline<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the statement which reads in part, the management said, \u201cIn our industry, we have the best record and capacity to move passengers on, and get them to their destinations safely, in the event of a break-down, in the course of a journey,\u201d noting that its longevity so far, and appreciable record of service, have been fully merited coming only from God and loyalty, support and commitment of its core customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we don\u2019t rule out the possibility that some overzealous staff down the line can sometimes constitute obstacles to realisation of our corporate policy of prompt, enjoyable and safer road transport service for our valued customers. We shall continue to train, re- train and reorient them to become better service delivery agents.
