{"id":175284,"date":"2022-04-10T22:44:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-10T21:44:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=175284"},"modified":"2022-04-10T22:44:04","modified_gmt":"2022-04-10T21:44:04","slug":"kogi-gives-reasons-for-delay-in-march-pensions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/10\/kogi-gives-reasons-for-delay-in-march-pensions\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi gives reasons for delay in March pensions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State<br \/>\nThe Kogi Government on Sunday gave explanation on the delay in the payment of pensions for the state\u2019s pensioners owed their March entitlement.<\/p>\n<p>The state Commissioner for Finance and Budget Planing, Asiwaju Idris, who spoke to journalists in Lokoja, said the widely circulated rumour that Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/09\/yahaya-bello-im-most-favoured-for-apc-ticket\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yahaya Bello<\/a>, had used the March Pension to conduct his presidential declaration event recently in Abuja was untrue.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner said on the contrary, there was delay in the payment of March pension due to banking logistics.<\/p>\n<p>Idris said that government was not owing pensioners and attributed the difficulty in the March payments to network failure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe delay in payment of March pensions was due to logistics problems of transferring the money from Access Bank to UBA,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, urged pensioners in the state to exercise patient and avoid anxiety, saying the banks were making efforts to resolve the problems and effect their payments within the nearest possible time.<\/p>\n<p>He noted the state government under the leadership of Bello priotised salaries of workers and pensioners, and would do everything to ensure the prompt payment of such, as the state government is known for.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State The Kogi Government on Sunday gave explanation on the delay in the payment of pensions for the state\u2019s pensioners owed their March entitlement.
