The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Amaju Pinnick, has been given a new role within the Federation of International Football Association\u2019s working group.<\/p>\n

This was announced in a statement by NFF\u2019s spokesperson, Ademola Olajire, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Pinnick\u2019s appointment came amid calls for his resignation as NFF boss<\/a> after Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n

In a letter dated 11th April and signed by V\u00e9ron Mosengo-Omba, General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football, the NFF boss was informed that he has been nominated by the President of CAF, Dr Joseph Motsepe to be part of the \u201cnewly established Working Group on Normalisation Committees.\u201d<\/p>\n

The CAF General Secretary wrote further, \u201cThis joint working group, to be led by FIFA, will analyse the applicable legal framework and the governance structure, mandate and mission of Normalisation Committees, and make suggestions to the FIFA Council accordingly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident that your nomination to this working group will positively contribute to the pertinent, and often essential, role played by Normalisation Committees in support of federations and towards the fulfilment of good governance practices.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
