Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has stated that persons responsible for the recent killing of scores of residents in Plateau “must not be forgiven”.<\/p>\n
Recall that media houses including WITHIN NIGERIA had reported how\u00a0gunmen attacked four villages in Kanam LGA of the state and killed an unconfirmed number of residents.<\/p>\n
According to residents, more than 80 people were killed in the attacks which occurred over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the development in a statement issued on Tuesday by Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, Buhari condemned the attacks and urged residents of the state to work with security agencies on providing information on the perpetrators.<\/p>\n
\u201cI urge all our citizens, the people of Plateau state in particular, to expose the perpetrators of such incidents, their sponsors and those who encourage such criminals who carry out these dastardly acts of murder, so that the law will take its course. They must not be forgiven,\u201d he was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n
Shehu added that Buhari also ordered law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are found<\/p>\n
\u201cAs full details emerge on the scale of the brutal terrorist attacks in Kanam and Wase communities in Plateau State, President Muhammadu Buhari has described the killings as heinous, saying that the perpetrators should not be allowed to escape justice,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe ordered law enforcement agencies to work strenuously with the government of the state, to bring the situation under control and take steps to bring the culprits to justice quickly.<\/p>\n
