Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command are on the trail of one Ahmed for allegedly masterminding the kidnap of his 22-year-old girlfriend, Hannatu Kabri in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Ahmed was said to have connived with Uchenna Daniels and Biliya to kidnap Kabri in Abuja on March 31 after which Daniels took the victim to Lagos.<\/p>\n

The victim was released after her parents paid N2m ransom<\/a> to Daniels.<\/p>\n

The case was reported to the police and a manhunt was launched for the suspects, leading to Daniels\u2019 arrest.<\/p>\n

The sate police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this while addressing journalists on Thursday at the Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, said the police were making efforts to arrest Ahmed and one Biliya who allegedly participated in the crime.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cOn 31st of March, 2022 at about 1400hrs (2pm), intelligence gathered revealed that one Uchenna Daniels, 30, kidnapped<\/a> one Miss. Hannatu Kabri, 22, in Abuja and fled to Lagos.<\/p>\n

\u201cOperatives of the command tracked and arrested the suspect, Uchenna Daniels, at Allen Avenue, Ikeja. The suspect revealed that the victim\u2019s boyfriend one Ahmed and one Biliya planned the kidnap with him and collected a ransom of N2 million in Kaduna through a Bureau de Change from the parents of the victim before she was released.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe added that they used a toy gun to commit the crime. Investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hundeyin said arrest was one of the numerous breakthroughs recorded by the command in the last one month in the fight against crime and criminality within Lagos.<\/p>\n

He stated, \u201cBefore you today we have a total of 32 suspects who have engaged in various crimes including armed robbery, kidnapping, defilement, murder, cultism, etc.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom all of these cases which we successfully cracked, we recovered a total of 11 arms, 19 live ammunition, two cars, 16 inverter batteries, six modules, cables, three ATM cards, four SIM cards and four phones.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hundeyin said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, assured Lagosians that the security of live and property would continue to be prioritised by the command.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
