{"id":180455,"date":"2022-04-20T12:05:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T11:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=180455"},"modified":"2022-04-20T12:05:00","modified_gmt":"2022-04-20T11:05:00","slug":"my-wife-got-me-detained-to-continue-her-adultery-man-tells-ibadan-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/20\/my-wife-got-me-detained-to-continue-her-adultery-man-tells-ibadan-court\/","title":{"rendered":"My wife got me detained to continue her adultery, Man tells Ibadan court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A trader, Musbau Yekeen, has told a Grade \u201cA\u201d customary court at Mapo, Ibadan that his estrange wife, Tawakalitu, got him detained in police custody to continue her adultery.<\/p>\n<p>According to Yekeen, he willfully agreed to the divorce suit filed by his wife to terminate the 12-year-old union between them on the ground of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/04\/my-wife-is-too-adulterous-divorce-seeking-man-tells-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">infidelity<\/a> and because she had all along been an embarrassment to him.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe major cause of conflict between Tawakalitu and I had always been her promiscuity, and I\u2019m never convinced of her excuses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTawakalitu eventually got me arrested and detained by the police recently due to my usual complaint about her waywardness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I was in police custody, my brother and friends brought me various reports that the same man that was having unholy romance with her had continued with her with reckless abandon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOut of anger, I told her to leave my house immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, Tawakalitu is in possession of my land documents, I want them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tawakalitu had in an earlier testimony said she filed the suit in order to avert a sudden death that could befall her as a result of frequent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/02\/alleged-assault-greenwood-suspended-indefinitely-by-manchester-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assault<\/a> from her husband.<\/p>\n<p>She further said that she sometimes swore on the Holy Quran to prove her innocence that she was not promiscuous.<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cIn fact, I moved out of his home when I could no longer cope with Yekeen\u2019s battery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides, he is owing me N90,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy lord, the man Yekeen complained about is an alfa and he only comes around to keep me company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, Yekeen comes to my shop often to beat up my male customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president of the court, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, pronounced the marriage dissolved and granted custody of the three children produced by the union to the petitioner.<\/p>\n<p>Akintayo ordered the respondent to pay a monthly feeding allowance of N15,000 for the children\u2019s upkeep and directed Tawakalitu and Yekeen to be jointly responsible for the education and other welfare of the children while maintaining peace and order.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A trader, Musbau Yekeen, has told a Grade \u201cA\u201d customary court at Mapo, Ibadan that his estrange wife, Tawakalitu, got him detained in police custody to continue her adultery.
