{"id":182533,"date":"2022-04-25T05:30:24","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T04:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=182533"},"modified":"2022-04-25T05:30:24","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T04:30:24","slug":"twitter-reconsidering-elon-musk-take-over-bid-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/25\/twitter-reconsidering-elon-musk-take-over-bid-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Twitter reconsidering Elon Musk take over bid \u2013 Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter has reportedly rescinded its initial move to fend off a total takeover of the micro blogging site by audacious Tesla CEO Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<p>The company is now considering the world&#8217;s richest man&#8217;s proposal.<\/p>\n<p>This development comes shortly after Musk announced he had <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/22\/elon-musk-vows-to-delete-fake-accounts-or-die-trying-if-his-46-5-billion-bid-to-take-over-twitter-succeeds\/\">secured $46.5 billion<\/a><\/strong> to buy the social media platform, in order to counter the poison pill approach initiated by Twitter to slow down his proposed takeover.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Wall Street Journal, executives have begun showing signs of reviewing the bid and striking a deal with the Tesla boss, as representatives from both sides were scheduled to meet on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>There are speculations that Twitter executives who are yet to estimate the value of the micro blogging platform may strike a deal that would ensure Musk covered the breakup protections as a contingency plan if the deal fails. The outcome of Sunday\u2019s meeting would be made public in the course of the week, the Journal noted.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday,\u00a0 Musk said he was exploring a tender offer to buy all of Twitter\u2019s common stock for $54.20 per share in cash.<\/p>\n<p>A tender offer would allow Musk, who owns nine per cent of Twitter shares, to present his offer directly to other shareholders, bypassing the board.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter has reportedly rescinded its initial move to fend off a total takeover of the micro blogging site by audacious Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
