A man identified as a mortuary attendant was detained in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, for chopping off the head of a deceased boy.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday morning, personnel from the Ogun State Government-owned security agency, the So-Safe Corps, apprehended the man, named as Kushimo Lukman.<\/p>\n

The suspect was described by the So-Safe Corps as “an acclaimed mortuary attendant working with MABOD in Oke-Yidi, Abule Oloni, Abeokuta.”<\/p>\n

According to the spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, Lukman, who lives at 9, Abule Oloni, Oke Yidi, Abeokuta, was apprehended by agency agents on regular patrol.<\/p>\n

He was apprehended \u201cafter he had beheaded the corpse of a male minor at the Oke Yidi cemetery in Abeokuta.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to a report by Daily Post, the suspect confessed during interrogation<\/a> that \u201cthe beheaded corpse was brought to the cemetery from the Federal Medical Centre FMC, Abeokuta, after he died due to complications from a kidney disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

The suspect was quoted to have said that \u201cthe parents of the boy, who came from Ibadan, sought his assistance as a mortuary attendant to get the body buried,\u201d adding that \u201che buried the boy\u2019s body inside the cemetery, in the presence of his parents at about 19:00hrs on Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the suspect was said to have later gone back to the cemetery at 6 am on Tuesday, \u201cto severe the head of the buried boy, and he was caught after a fierce fight with the So-Safe officers, who later overpowered him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yusuf added that the suspect \u201cconfessed that the fresh head was requested for by one Chief Ifalonishe (AKA Lanroye) at the rate of N50,000,\u201d saying \u201cit was supposed to be delivered to him at a designated point within Abeokuta.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the state Commander of the corps, Soji Ganzallo, has ordered the operation department of the corps to ensure that the accomplices are apprehended and brought to book alongside his numerous clients.<\/p>\n

It was learnt that the suspect has been handed over to the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and likely prosecution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
