It can also infect domestic poultry, other birds, and animals. Bird flu infections in humans, though possible, is rare.<\/p>\n<p>According to the health commission, the H3N8 strain of bird flu has been previously detected globally in horses, dogs, poultry and seals, but no human cases of H3N8 have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe National\u00a0Health\u00a0Commission\u00a0has guided\u00a0Henan\u00a0Province to carry out prevention and control in accordance with relevant plans and organized experts to carry out risk assessments.\u00a0Experts have preliminarily assessed that the\u00a0H3N8\u00a0avian influenza virus is avian-derived and\u00a0does not\u00a0yet\u00a0have the ability to effectively infect people.\u00a0The outbreak is an occasional bird-to-human cross-species transmission, and the risk of\u00a0large-scale transmission is low.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, China had also recorded its first\u00a0human case of the H10N3 strain of bird flu in a 41-year-old man.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Republic of China has recorded its first human case of the H3N8 strain bird flu.
