{"id":18462,"date":"2021-04-07T09:57:37","date_gmt":"2021-04-07T08:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=18462"},"modified":"2021-04-07T09:57:37","modified_gmt":"2021-04-07T08:57:37","slug":"inec-denies-appointing-consultants-for-staff-recruitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/07\/inec-denies-appointing-consultants-for-staff-recruitment\/","title":{"rendered":"INEC denies appointing consultants for staff recruitment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied hiring individuals or groups as consultants for staff recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, made this known in a statement in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Okoye urged members of the public to report to security agencies, individuals or group claiming to be consulting for the commission on recruitment of staff.<\/p>\n<p>He said the attention of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/01\/nin-not-mandatory-for-voter-registration-inec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">INEC<\/a> had been drawn to activities of some fraudsters claiming to be working for the Commission on recruitment of personnel.<\/p>\n<p>He said that unscrupulous elements had gone to the extent of cloning INEC logo and commenced soliciting for applicants for jobs in the Commission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fraudsters claim that they have been appointed consultants to the Commission and are reportedly asking innocent Nigerians to pay some amount of money as application fees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe claim of being appointed consultants clearly adds a new dimension to the fake employment scam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe general public should take note that not only is the Commission not recruiting at the moment; it has not appointed any consultant or agency to recruit on its behalf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commission calls on members of the public to be cautious and not allow themselves to be hoodwinked by fraudsters,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied hiring individuals or groups as consultants for staff recruitment.
