Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has said only Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has what it takes to tackle the myriad of challenges facing Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Timothy Olaniyan, the head of the Directorate of Politics and Governance, a political department of the Church, made this known over the Weekend.<\/p>\n
He spoke at the inaugural conference of a political movement called New Era Nigeria (NEN).<\/p>\n
This is as the department commenced soliciting support for Osinbajo\u2019s presidential bid.<\/p>\n
Olaniyan said Osinbajo, being a \u201cchild of God,\u201d remained the only aspirant capable of changing the governance narrative in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs of today, Pastor Yemi Osinbajo is not just a pastor; he is still a child of God,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Olaniyan said the country deserved an honest leader.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is high time our eyes were opened. What we want is not those baits, we want somebody that would make a promise to our children and fulfil it,\u201d he explained. \u201cIf you tell me education will be free, I want you to get there and make it free so that we will not continue to build up youths who have no future.\u201d<\/p>\n
In March, RCCG created the department to mobilise support for members of the mission seeking elective office, a move that further blurred the thin line between religious prejudices and the state in Nigeria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
