Former President Goodluck Jonathan praised late Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua as a fine gentleman of a rare breed.<\/p>\n

Jonathan stated this in a statement on Thursday to commemorate the 12-year anniversary of the former president’s death in 2010.<\/p>\n

According to Jonathan, Yar’ Adua’s legacy would be recognized throughout the country because he was a man of peace and a soldier of truth.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cTwelve years ago, our nation lost a patriot, a selfless leader and a peacemaker who governed with sincerity and passion for the people. President Umaru Musa Yar\u2019 Adua is no longer with us today, but his strides in public life continue to testify<\/a> for him and keep his memory alive.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike a good athlete, he ran with passion, kept the faith and finished the race. Today we can look back and say, as President he won laurels for us in terms of peace and other worthy causes he successfully pursued.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a soldier of truth, committed to justice, equity and other democratic virtues. He was a servant leader and a good man; the type that is hard to find.<\/p>\n
