Atiku Abubakar, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has refuted claims that he was not granted audience by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State during his consultation visit to the state over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Reports had claimed that Atiku, who was on a tour of the Southwest to meet with party delegates ahead of the party\u2019s primary elections could not meet with the Oyo State Governor.<\/p>\n
This is even as images of the 2019 presidential candidate and Makinde were shared on social media<\/p>\n
Makinde reportedly ignored Atiku Abubakar, despite the itinerary showing he was to meet with him after leaving Abeokuta, Ogun State.<\/p>\n
Atiku met with delegates in Lagos State on Friday after meeting Chief Olabode George at his Ikoyi office and proceeded with his journey when he met with Ogun State delegates in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n
The former Vice President reportedly could not meet Makinde in spite of the fact that journalists had been informed to be on standby for the meeting.<\/p>\n
But in reaction to the report, Paul Ibe, Atiku\u2019s Senior Special Adviser on Media, said reports of his principal being ignored by Makinde was false.<\/p>\n
He added that Makinde and Atiku did meet on Sunday morning to discuss topical issue of national significance.<\/p>\n
\u201cMedia reports that Gov @seyiamakinde shunned H.E @atiku during his consultative tour of Oyo State are not true.<\/p>\n
